Email Automation


Our email automation app lets you prospect, schedule meetings and follow up. Send out large mass email campaigns or smaller and more bespoke campaigns to a smaller recipient list.

You can create and manage as many templates and create campaigns with as many touchpoints as you need.  Touchpoints can.

How do I link my Gmail account?

  1. Navigate to your default avatar/profile picture in the top right of the header
  2. Choose Your account.
  3. You've now landed on the Profile, to link your Gmail account, click Link Google Workspace.
  4. You'll now be taken to the Google authentication flow to verify your account.
  5. When your account has been successfully linked, you'll see a small checkmark underneath your profile picture to indicate that the Google account linking is active.

How do I link my Amazon SES account?

  1. Navigate to your default avatar/profile picture in the top right of the header.
  2. Choose APIs from the sidebar navigation.
  3. Choose Amazon SES from the list of available third party integrations by clicking Link.
  4. Enter the Amazon session Key ID, the Session key secret, the session key region and the session email (the email you wish to link).
  5. You'll receive an email from Amazon in which you have to confirm the linking.
  6. Your email should now be linked and ready to be coupled to your Naologic email automation application.

How do I create and manage email templates?

  1. Navigate to the Marketing tab in your top header and choose Email Templates from the dropdown.
  2. Click Add new email template.
  3. Enter a template name for your email template (ie. Newsletter template).
  4. Enter a subject line (Ie. Welcome to the monthly Tesla newsletter update).
  5. Compose your template body with your content. You can add data labels here which allows you to customize and personalize your template with recipient information. The information used in the data labels will be pulled from the information you've populated in each of your contacts for a given group. For example, you might wish to create a newsletter template for all founders in your network and for this, you would select the contact type to be founder and then start picking the data labels to customize.
  6. Create your campaign in the top right corner and it will now be available for you to choose from when you put together your email campaigns in the future.
  7. You can always return to a template to edit it by identifying or searching for it in the main Email template table and pressing edit on the row options that appear for each row when hovered.

How do I create and manage email campaigns?

  1. Navigate to the Marketing tab in your top header and choose Email Campaigns from the dropdown.
  2. Click Add new email campaign.
  3. Enter a campaign name for your email campaign (ie. Reactivation Campaign December 2020).
  4. Specify the campaign start date. On this date, we will automatically send out the first campaign touchpoint.
  5. Select the campaign sender email from the dropdown of linked emails across your workspace. If you do not see the desired email in the dropdown, you should go back to the above two sections to ensure that you've properly linked your Gmail and/or Amazon SES account.
  6. Next, you have to select recipients for your campaign; you can do so by typing and selecting individual recipients or by clicking Batch-add recipients and selecting larger groups of recipients all at once.
  7. Specify whether you want Naologic to automatically detect recipients who engage with you at any given point of your campaign and remove them from further campaign touchpoints to avoid spamming already engaged users. This is a very important configuration which is toggled on by default since we recommend removing recipients once they engage with a campaign.
  8. Verify the list of recipients you've added in the recipient list preview have been added correctly.
  9. You can manually add extra recipients by hand who might not be in your Naologic contact list by clicking Add row.
  10. Start creating your campaign touchpoints.
  11. Specify when the given touchpoint should execute in relation to the start date and any previous touchpoints you might have specified already (ie. send out campaign touchpoint 2 exactly four days after touchpoint 1 at 4pm.
  12. Start creating the template body: here you can either import already created email templates or create unique ones as you go.
  13. You can add custom data fields which are unique data points which you then can tailor based on each recipient afterwards. For example, if you wish to send out a tailored touchpoint referring to a piece of information not captured by Naologic already, simple name it (say, {{dataFieldAboutTheWeather}}) and then specify the actual weather condition you're referring to for each recipient in the preview cells in the previous section where your new label automatically will appear as a column.
  14. You can also choose to add data labels just as you would for creation of email templates.
  15. Add as many touchpoints as needed for your campaign and hit create in the top right corner.
  16. Check the status of your campaign, pause it, edit it or delete it at any given point in time from the main table.

What are campaign touchpoints?

Campaign touchpoints are the parts that, altogether, make up your email campaign. In a campaign with 3 emails, each email would constitute a touchpoint.

Touchpoint 1 would for example get triggered on the campaign start date you choose when creating a template.

Let's say this touchpoint went out to all 10 recipients of your campaign on day 1. Let's say 2 people replied to your campaign whilst the remaining 8 did not. Naologic would automatically filter out the 2 recipients who reacted and engaged with you on the back of touchpoint 1 and only send out touchpoint 2 to the remaining 8 campaign recipients on the specified date for touchpoint 2 to trigger.

How can I follow a campaign's performance?

The most important part of any campaign, is of course to follow and assess its performance. In the main table, simply click View which will expand a page with the performance for the full campaign.

From here, you can see the main metrics associated with a campaign such as the total number of recipients, reply rate, open rate, clickthrough rate and the number of delivered emails.

Moreover, you can pick any recipient from the table and view the email they received to ensure that your data fields triggered correctly (although you should have already verified this prior to starting the campaign through the preview option).
