Weather in Tofino is very comfortable for the most part winters are not too chilly and summers here are a bit milder. Spend the days at the beach during peak season from June to September. July to August is the great period for surfing, kayaking and other water sports.

If you can locate accomodation in Tofino or Ucluelet within your budget this late in the season then it is worth the visit. it is about the same amount of detour driving.... Absolutely, it is worth the time.

Tofino is a peculiar place. There is a reason that it was, and still is, known as “Tough City.” It's a paradise for tourists – but it is challenging to live in. It has a core community of approximately 1650 “residents” – and you'd think that that would give it a very great small-town vibe and feeling of community.

Tofino is famed for spectacular sunsets. When I think of both “tropical” and “Canada”, the first place that springs to mind is Tofino. One of Canada's most westerly cities, Tofino overlooks the Pacific Ocean and is home to some of the greatest surfing in the country, as well as whale watching, hiking, kayaking, and so much more.

By 1904, islanders had began to use the name Tofino from adjacent Tofino Inlet, named for Spanish rear admiral, geographer and hydrographer Vincente Tofiño de San Miguel in 1792.

The beaches are amazing, and with the Pacific forest going down to the edge of the beach, it's so lovely. Tofino is a little community but there is much to do, and with fantastic scenery around every corner, great places to eat and so much to see.
