Alphago - Why is Go considered harder than chess?

The enormous intricacy of Go makes it seem more difficult than Chess. There are over 400 possible moves after the first two in a game of chess. On the other hand, there are around 130,000 possible outcomes in Go. The search space in Go is enormous, bigger than the number of atoms in the universe, as Google revealed in a blog post.
