Big O Notation - What is big O and small O notation?

Expressing that something is 'of the same order as' is done using Big-O notation. Contrarily, items are 'eventually smaller than' when written using little-o notation. As an example, for each given constant c, f(n)/c approaches 0 if f(n) = o(1).
