Data Ingestion - What is API data ingestion?

Data such as metrics, events, alarms, logs, inventory, and groups may be inserted using the ingestion APIs. Only payloads in JSON format are supported by the APIs. Every data type has its own set of preset fields in the JSON payload. The data-sending product must adhere to the guidelines laid out here.
