Formal Language - What is a formal way of writing?

The tone is more neutral in formal writing. Declaring the main arguments and then providing evidence to support them is a common practice. In formal writing, an emotional tone is less common. This is why you won't see ellipses or exclamation points used here unless you're directly quoting someone else.
