Logit Function - What is the logit model used for?

Using logistic regression analysis, we can determine the model parameters in cases where the likelihood of an outcome is 0 ≤ y ≤ 1. This allows us to use the logistic model. In this scenario, the parameters are solved using ordinary least squares (OLS) techniques, and the logistic regression model is a linearization of the logit probability model.
