Max Pooling - What is the difference between sum pooling and max pooling?

The data dimension is decreased via both sum pooling and max pooling, but in different ways. Max pooling extracts the maximum input from a specific region of your convolutional layer, as opposed to sum pooling, which averages all inputs instead of only the maximum.
