Pooling - What is meant by pooling system?

Management billing systems may be rather precise; for example, Xerox uses what is called the "Pooling System" for their operations. Based on the copy volumes of a certain pool of computers, this method aggregates the amounts owed from obligors under one or more contracts, making it useful for contract management.
