Pre-Training - What is pretraining and finetuning?

By preparing the model beforehand, it may understand the fundamental structure of a big dataset and learn broad characteristics and representations from it. By refining the model's understanding using a smaller, task-specific dataset, fine-tuning improves its performance on the target task.
