Subject-Action-Object - What is subject and object?

The functions of subjects and objects are diametrically opposed in sentence construction. The onus for doing an action lies on the subject. As an example, the subject 'we' performs the action in the statement "We are watching Netflix." However, things are the ones that end up getting hit.
