Blanket Order - What is blanket purchase order in SAP MM?

A purchase order that may be used to simplify the procurement of products or services and has a validity term and constraints. Various goods and services can be purchased from a seller up to a certain limit using a blanket purchase order that is valid for a longer period of time. The document type FO and item category B are both used to describe blanket purchase orders.
