Artificial General Intelligence - Is AGI really possible?

There is debate about whether or not AGI is feasible. While some think it will only take a few decades or perhaps a century, others think it might take much longer. Some go so far as to say that AGI might never really materialize. Whether or whether existing large language models (LLMs) such as GPT-4 reflect early, albeit imperfect, versions of AGI is another contentious issue, as is the notion of AGI.
