Connectionism - What is an example of connectionism?

Similar to how a stimulus might elicit a reaction, the concept of association formation is central to connectionism. One example of this would be linking the sight of a chocolate cake to the feeling of wanting to drool. A stimulus-response bond (S-R bond) is the connection that forms between an external stimulus and the reaction it elicits.
