False Negative - What is the meaning of false negative?

When a test result incorrectly suggests that a condition does not exist, it is known as a false negative mistake. False negatives occur, for instance, when a pregnancy test says a lady isn't pregnant when in fact she is, or when a defendant is found not guilty despite overwhelming evidence.
