Generalized Model - What is the difference between general and generalized model?

The distribution of the dependent variable is what differentiates the generalized linear model from the general linear model. An expansion of the general linear model, the generalized linear model permits the specification of response variables with non-normal distributions, in contrast to the former, which requires that the dependent variable follow the normal distribution.
