2D Barcode - What are the disadvantages of 2D barcodes?

2D barcodes, while advantageous in many ways, do have some drawbacks. Unlike traditional barcodes that include readable characters at the bottom, 2D barcodes do not. This can pose a challenge if the barcode is damaged or missing as operators cannot manually input the data. The reason for this is the vast amount of data that 2D barcodes hold, making it impractical to include readable characters.
